The Amazing Race - Lifesaving Edition

Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club is hosting an Amazing Race challenge in Brisbane called RESCUE RESCUE RACE. The event has a surf lifesaving theme, so it's all about having fun with friends and family. There'll be stalls set up in our event village at Flowstate (Venue in Southbank), and plenty of prizes to be won.

The event will be run by Beyond the Boardroom, one of Australia's fastest growing companies that specialise in team-building activities just like this. Rescue Rescue Race is designed so it's not necessarily the fastest team that wins, but the smartest and most creative. So find a team of 4-7 people and register your team below now!

Every team will get a race kit containing race information, goodies, and Rescue Rescue Race event T-shirts. The Amazing Race will take approximately 1.5hrs and cover 3-4km, so bring decent footwear and a water bottle. We'd love if your team came in costume, so get creative as prizes will be on offer.

Date: Saturday, November 16th
Time: 9:30am - 1pm
Where: Flowstate, Southbank Parklands
Cost: $40 per team (all money goes towards lifesaving services at Point Lookout)

About the Surf Girl Program

Rescue Rescue Race has been organised by Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club's Surf Girl representative Ann-Sophie. Now in its 56th year, the Surf Girl program was created by Surf Lifesaving Queensland to develop female members and raise vital funds and equipment for Queensland's surf lifesaving clubs.

At Point Lookout SLSC we are proud that no lives have been lost between our flags in our 71-year history. Given the challenges of our location we actively patrol two beaches in addition to providing Waverunner support services outside patrolled areas, and are the only Queensland lifesaving club to do so. Our isolated location on North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) has resulted in numerous bravery awards and international lifesaving citations for rescues around the many headlands of Point Lookout. Annually we perform an average of 49 rescues, 508 first aids, and countless preventative actions. The equipment necessary to maintain our patrols is in excess of $150,000, so we rely on the generosity of businesses and individuals to maintain the resources and training necessary to provide this vital community service.

By participating in the event you consent to appear in any event related media.
